In line with the celebration of World AIDS Day on December 1, Talinhaga Theatre Collaborative will be performing Dulaang Laboratoryo’s PULSES on November 30, 6PM at The Library, along Maria Orosa Street in Malate, Manila. Tickets cost P500 each and proceeds will be donated to Take the Test, an non-government organization who helps facilitate free HIV/AIDS testing, seminars and counseling to further reach out the larger population about the information on how to prevent the spread of the virus.
Pulses is a new play that presents monologues, songs, dances and poetry to promote awareness about HIV and AIDS, as well as acceptance for the people living with the virus. The play shares different stories of every people living with HIV, from a mother who cries after being rejected by the society, the bellows of an OFW who was detained because of being infected with the virus and discriminated by the country who is not open about the their rights and the tears of a young man who dreams of love but it was pain given to him. Each character is inspired by true stories of people living with HIV (PLHIV), and let us discover the journey and struggle to cope with their lives and faced the discriminating looks of the society who sees them as the modern lepers because of the social stigma because of HIV/AIDS
Join Talinhaga Theatre Collaborative as they give voices to the people living with HIV, and also be the messenger of information and awareness on how to put halt on the spread of the virus.
