After its farewell last 2006 on ABS-CBN Channel 2, Pipol is back on TV with its new home at ANC and will be hosted again by Ces Drilon. It will premiere on Monday (October 10) at 9:30 pm and it will run for 30 minutes. One of the guests that Pipol will be featuring is the former Supreme Court Associate Justice and now the newly-appointed and current Ombudsman of the Philippines Conchita Carpio-Morales. Drilon is very happy that her show is back on television and he mentioned that one of her dream to feature in her show is Danding Cojuanco, the chairman of San Miguel Corporation and the uncle of President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
Pipol originally started in 1999, where it series 2-3 personalities both politics, entertainment and ordinary persons that did a remarkably in the society. It ended in aired its final episode in 2006. From there Ces moved to other programs like The Correspondents, I Survived, The Rundown and Bandila. As Pipol returns to ANC, the cable news channel of ABS-CBN the show will be on English format to cater broader audience but it will still have the bold and straight to the point questions and true stories of every personality that will be featured on the show.
Aside from Pipol, there will be changes in line up of anchors in ANC. Starting on October 10; Pinky Webb will be joining the team of Mornings@ANC namely Don Cruz, Ginger Conejero and Paolo Abrera. Gigi Grande, who was a former anchor of the morning show, will be moving to 12 pm with TJ Manotoc for Dateline Philippines. Then a new evening news show entitled Primetime on ANC will be hosted by Tony Velasquez and former ABS-CBN North America Bureau correspondent Karmina Constantino. Lastly Teodoro “Teddyboy” Locsin, Jr.’s return to editorial journalism via “Teditorial,” a two-minute commentary segment on select ANC news programs featuring his perspective on the latest news stories. So catch them all on ANC at Skycable Channel 27.
