In line with the recall of an Oral B mouthwash in the market is several territories like in the Philippines, Procter & Gamble issued an official statement regarding the said pullout:
“Oral-B is conducting a voluntary recall of the following rinse products:
Oral B Tooth and Gum Care Alcohol Free Mouth Rinse (500ml, 350 ml and 60ml sizes)
Reason for recall: This is a precautionary step after detecting out-of-specification microbial levels in some products produced at one of its contract manufacturing facilities.
Oral-B is removing all affected product from store shelves, and has informed the Philippine Food and Drug Administration.
If present, the microbial level poses virtually no risk to healthy people. However, people with severely weakened immune systems, such as those with cystic fibrosis may be more susceptible to adverse health effects.
No other Oral-B products are affected by this recall. “
The voluntary recall made by P&G started last July 15, where Oral-B Tooth and Gum Care Alcohol-Free Mouth Rinse were removed from the store shelves due microbial contamination. Aside from the Philippines, Canada and some Asian countries conducted the recall and while in the US, the said mouthwash is safe to use.
