In the Philippines, we have two seasons; Dry Season (Summer) and Wet Season (Rainy Days). Having those seasons as basis for our dishes and desserts we have so many options to choose. If its rainy or cold season we enjoyed warm bowls of Arroz Caldo, Champorado, Goto or Ginataang Halo-Halo and as for summer we Filipinos love to cool that summer heat with creamy and sweet Halo-Halo. Like Nathaniel’s Bakeshop that serves Buco Pandan, another Kapangpangan (from Pampanga) based restaurant is known with their specialty in Halo Halo – Kabigting’s.
Originates from Arayat, Pampanga, Kabigting’s is popular with their Halo Halo made from cream of corn, haleyang white beans and homemade pastillas de leche made from carabao’s milk. The ingredients reach up to the ¾ part of the glass and topped by well shaved ice to make every spoon full of it creamy and fun. Each cup cost P70. Unlike other Halo-Halo Kabigting’s is not that sweet which in my case I like my dessert that way.
Aside from Halo Halo, Kabigting’s also offers Palabok (P60), Arroz Caldo (P60), Lumpia (P75/2 pcs.) Dinuguan (P65), Tokwa’t Baboy (P60) and their home made Pastillas de Leche (P70/box). So if ever you’re in Banawe Street in Quezon City drop by at the Kabigting’s just in front of Tasty Dumplings. Like their Facebook Page to get updates of their promos and other announcements.
