The latest mutant movie directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender is more of a biography type discussing the history of what is now known to us as the X-Men. X-Men: First Class was presented by Marvel Entertainment, Dune Entertainment and 20th Century Fox and distributed by Warner Bros Pictures nationwide beginning June 2 in all theaters.
X-Men: First Class follows the “becoming” of each mutant characters we saw in the Marvel Comics created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby which was later adopted in TV animated series and movie. The fifth installment of the X-Men series which is now showing worldwide is actually the prequel of fist four (X-Men, X2, X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine), showing the character of Erik Lensherr (Fassbender) before he became Magneto, Charles Xavier (McAvoy) before Professor X and Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) before Mystique. The movie also shows how brotherhood between Charles and Erik grew strong and later separated by their opposing belief.
It was not the usual X-Men film that has 75% action and graphics; instead it is more on the personal drama of each character discussing what made them to be of what we know now. So for others the more than 2 hours run of the movie can be dragging or boring which is more conversation and less action, but in my case I did enjoyed the movie and actually understand most of the important details which are very much prominent in the original X-Men. It shows what made Professor X limp and not read Mystique’s mind, and others.
The execution of the scenes was perfectly done along with the texture. It gives the feeling of time traveling from the past and slowly moving to the present. Also stars Rose Byrne, January Jones, Oliver Platt and Kevin Bacon. Also with cameo role of Beth Goddard, Rebecca Romijn and Hugh Jackman. X-Men: First Class is now showing in all cinemas nationwide presented by Marvel Entertainment, Dune Entertainment and 20th Century Fox and distributed by Warner Bros Pictures.
