Jump-start summer with a fun and unique event called Make Your Own Notebook. During the activity, guests of all ages can create their very own eco-notebook from post-consumer recycled paper and recyclable materials. It will be on Saturday, April 16, 2011, from 1pm until 5pm, at The Rockwell Club.
It takes three simple steps to build a 100% eco-friendly notebook. First, choose your notebook’s cover—yellow, green, orange, white, and more—it might be the most difficult choice. Then decide how thin or thick you want your notebook to be. Third, head to the last station where the Ecothings team will ring-bind your creation!
Kids can definitely get creative! Art school Creative Kids will facilitate a special art activity to personalize notebook covers using different art mediums and recycled items like buttons, tanzans, used paper, and other materials.
By using recycled materials, you save trees from being cut to make paper, and you do your share in conserving precious water and energy. A portion of proceeds from all notebooks sold that day will go to Greenpeace to support their work for a clean future.
The event is organized by Ecothings, a new group that specializes in eco-printed products. They use 100% recyclable materials, such as recycled paper, soy ink, and water-based glue, and strives to reduce their carbon footprint in every stage of the production process. Ecothings’ 100% recyclable planners, sketchpads, and notebooks are available at Fully Booked outlets, Scribe Writing Essentials, and the ECHOstore.
