WWF-Philippines announced that there are 81 Olive Ridley Sea Turtle (Lepidochelys
olivacea) hatchings swim out to sea few hours after hatching in Anvaya Cove, Morong, Bataan. The said area is now known as a hatching site for the Olive Ridley Sea Turtle. The said kind of turtle was classified by the IUCN as vulnerable and one of five sea turtle species in the Philippines that’s under the protection of law.
According to the Anvaya Cove Activity Manager Ranessa Santos, the recent hatching was the fourth clutch that hatched since September 2010. “We do what we can to protect seaturtle nests in our cove.” Santos ended.
