Kathryn Bernardo has been honored with the Snow Leopard Rising Star Award at the 2024 Asian World Film Festival (AWFF), held in Los Angeles, California.
The award-giving body praised Kathryn not only for her box-office success but also for her status as “one of the Philippines’ most bankable and beloved performers.”
In her heartfelt acceptance speech, Kathryn expressed gratitude for the recognition:
“It is such an honor to be here, representing my fellow Filipinos and my home network, ABS-CBN. Thank you so much to the AWFF, my family, my mom—who’s here, my friends, my mentors, and to everyone who has believed in me throughout this journey. May we all continue to tell stories that will touch people’s lives.”
Kathryn’s latest film, “Hello, Love, Again,” where she reprises her role as Joy opposite Alden Richards, has been shattering box-office records locally and internationally. Remarkably, it became the first Philippine film to break into the US box-office Top 10, debuting at No. 8.
The Asian World Film Festival celebrates the finest films from across the region, aiming to foster cross-cultural collaboration and highlight world-class storytelling in the global film industry.
