After the successful staging of Care Divas early this year, Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) is bringing it back in line with their 50th anniversary. Care Divas will be staged once again at the PETA Theater in Sunnyside Dr, New Manila, Quezon City from June 24 to July 30.
This special run is dedicated to all the unsung heroes of our time – our beloved Pinoy OFWs, whose resilience became the inspiration for this poignant yet super fun musical. The story follows five transgender Overseas Filipino Workers in Israel who work as care givers in the morning and transform into glamorous drag queen performers at night. While desperate to make ends meet, they also struggle to search for acceptance in a foreign land.
Caredivas dominated the 2011 Philstage Gawad Buhay! Awards, bagging seven trophies including Outstanding Stage Direction, Outstanding Musical Direction, Outstanding Musical Production and Outstanding Ensemble Performance for a Musical.
There is no confirmation yet on who will be the cast for this special run. Details will be unveiled soon on PETA’s official social media accounts and website.
Meanwhile, tickets are now available on www.ticketworld.com.ph or call Ticket World hotline at 891.999 for reservations. For inquiries about the show please call PETA Marketing and Public Relations Office at Tel. No. 725-6244, [email protected].
