In line with the decision of the Metro Manila Council (MMC) to pass a resolution to that will relocate the provincial bus terminals in Pasay City and Cubao, Quezon City, to the outskirts of Metro Manila which banning them in EDSA to prevent traffic congestion, Albay Congressman Joey Salceda immediately gave his statement against the said decision. According to him that the decision is anti-poor and unfair.
Salceda said that the provincial bus passengers can only pay Php 450 for ordinary and Php 750 for aircon buses and cannot afford the more expensive plane fares. And with the decision to build provincial bus terminal in NLEX and SLEX it will add to the burden to the provincial passengers to have extra budget for their transportation going to EDSA or to the venue where they can easily get ride home.
The Albay congressman also said that the trending Pokemon Go app can aggravate traffic in Metro Manila where he stated that Pokemon Go users playing inside their cars can contribute on the slow moving of the vehicles. He said that the player in the car has the tendency to slow down or stand by in the lure or when catching a Pokemon.
Salceda reminded that compare to more than 2.5 million private vehicles in Metro Manila there are only 3,300 provincial buses.
