As part of President Rodrigo Duterte’s vision to bring immediate emergency response to those who are in need and a grievance center to report government officials, hotlines 911 and 8888 are officially accessible nationwide starting August 1. Available via landline and smartphones, 911 will be similar to the 911 in the US that was made possible by Duterte to Davao when he was a mayor. The hotline will serve as direct line for help. An operator will assist you and will communicate immediately to the nearest fire station, police and emergency medical service.
Meanwhile, 8888 will be citizen complaint hotline to report corrupt officials, officials who don’t to their job and government projects left undone.
Both hotlines are accessible 24/7.
