With his goal to run for 2016 Election as President, Vice President Jejomar Binay officially filled his resignation from his cabinet posts as chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) and Presidential Adviser on Overseas Filipino Workers’ (OFW) Concerns. In his resignation letter, his request should be immediately and irrevocable. In the report of www.ABS-CBNNews.com, the resignation was delivered by Binay’s daughter the Makati Representative Abigail Binay in the Office of the President.
Binay’s daughter was accompanied by Undersecretary Benjamin Martinez Jr., the chief of staff of the Office of the Vice President. The Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa received the said resignation letter around 3:55 p.m. at the Office of the Executive Secretary, which according to Joey Salgado, VP Binay’s spokesperson.
With the political plan of Binay to run for President on 2016, he was hoping to get support from President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III. Unfortunately, report says Aquino is not keen to endorse to Binay as his successor. Instead has given good words to DILG Secretary and former running mate in 2013 election Mar Roxas and Senator Grace Poe who is leading the presidential polls but hasn’t given any confirmation if she’s running on 2016.
