Velasco Brothers and Gwyneth Dorado surprise judges with their performance in the semis of Asia’s Got Talent

Last April 16, the semi-finals kick off with two Filipino acts The Velasco Brothers and Gwyneth Dorado included on the first batch together with Gonzo and Triqstar of Japan, Oscar Chu of Taiwan, Nitish Bharti of India, The Brothers of Indonesia and Gao Lin and Liu Xin the Golden Buzzer recipient of China.

Gwyneth performed a cover of “Nobody’s Perfect” by Jessie J whereas Vanness Yu said that her performance was fierce. “Mahal kita all over again” (I love you all over again) Wu said to Gwyneth. While Melanie C. said that she’s a big fan of Gwyneth and she believes she will become a big star in the future. She said that she her performance was fearless. Meanwhile, The Velasco Brothers gave a new twist on their breakdance performance by adding a mob/bar fight-inspired story in their routine. Vanness said he wanted to be a Velasco Brother and he enjoyed how they incorporated the break dancing and choreography with the acting inside. But according to Anggun that their performance in the semis was not a step-up from what they saw in the audition and David Foster contradicted her by telling that The Velasco Brothers did exactly what he suggested and that is to add story in their performance. The voting for the semi-finals for the Asia’s Got Talent is until April 20 at 11:59PM. To support The Velasco Brothers and Gwyneth just text SMS AGT (Contestant number) to 2929 which available in SMART and other network and there’s also Facebook and Asia’s Got Talent app voting option.

Before the episode ended, Gao Lin and Liu Xin from China were once again awarded with the Golden Buzzer that secured a slot for them in the finals. And on the second semi-finals of AGT that will happen April 23, the Golden Buzzer recipient the Opera Singer Gerphil Geraldine Flores and Junior New System will be competing with other six acts including Young Boys of Indonesia, Bebop of South Korea, Khusugtun of Mongolia, Sydney Uke of Thailand, Bảo Cường of Vietnam and Fathin Amira of Singapore.
