>Warner Bros Pictures and Columbia Pictures brings a film that tells a story how faith and hope blooms amidst of chaos. The Book of Eli is an apocalyptic action film directed by Albert and Allen Hughes, written by Gary Whitta, and starring Denzel Washington (Eli), Gary Oldman (Carnegie), Jennifer Beals (Claudia) and Mila Kunis (Solara). Book of Eli is now showing in all Cinemas nationwide.
The Book of Eli is set thirty years after a great war that purges half of mankind in the world. Eli (Washington) possessed the book that Carnegie is looking for, the last remaining Bible. Carnegie believed that anyone who owns the Bible will have a power to rule the world, the world of illiterates and savage. Carnegie and Eli was the only person who was able to read unlike others. Eli refuses to give the book and goes west to fulfill his mission, the mission he believes empowered by his faith.
Charismatic, this is the only word I can use to describe the film. The role of Washington shows his dedication in life to fulfill a task with a strong faith and dedication. The storyline is simple but the way how it was delivered along with the character’s line shows a broader perspective of the story. Walk with faith in you’re heart and you will never walk alone, is the message that Eli convene to his viewers. Yes it maybe an action film but the main heart of story is about keeping the faith.
Book of Eli is showing in all SM Cinemas and other theaters nationwide beginning March 17.
