Due to red rainfall warning that PAG-ASA posted earlier this morning in connection with Typhoon Mario, Malacanang suspended all classes in private and public schools in all levels in Metro Manila and provinces including Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Quezon, including Polillo Island, Mindoro Provinces, Camarines Norte, Marinduque and Pangasinan. This is due to severe flooding in the respective areas to avoid further accident at the same time several schools were now used as evacuation centers.
Aside from the suspension of classes, Malacanang also suspends work for non-operational in government offices in Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Quezon, Polillo, Mindoro provinces, Camarines Norte, Marinduque, and Pangasinan except those who are working for logistics, infrastructures and rescue in connection with the typhoon.
Meanwhile, several private companies had already suspended work non operational.
The Typhoon Mario was initially entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and expected to bring rain until Sunday, September 21 as it moves North to North-West.
