It is official Lyca Gairanod from the team of Sarah Geronimo is the grand champion of The Voice Kids Philippines after getting the highest percentage of votes. She will be bringing home a house and lot from Camella, Php 1 Million cash prize, Php 1 Million worth of trust funds from Systema, Php 1 Million contract from MCA Music and home appliances. Meanwhile runner ups include Darren Espanto of Team Sarah, followed by Juan Karlos Labajo of Bamboo’s Kamp Kawayan and Darlene Vibares from Lea Salonga’s Team.
During the live show earlier before the announcement of the results the young artists had their last round of performances with singers to join them on the stage of Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila. The 3rd round where they need to sing with a particular singer started with Darren where he sings with Martin Nievera with the song You Are My Song. He was followed by Darlene with Lani Misalucha singing You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me and next was Juan Karlos doing an upbeat performance of Eto Na Naman with Gary Valenciano. Closing the final round was Lyca going back to the kind of song she performed during blind audition. She performed Basang Basa sa Ulan with her idols Aegis.
In the 1st and 2nd rounds of performances that they performed yesterday (July 26); in the Power Ballad Juan Karlos the Cebuano Charmer emotionally performed Yesterday of The Beatles and followed by the Girl on Fire Darlene singing the iconic Sharon Cuneta song Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas. Back to back performance from Team Sarah; Darren to Total Performer performed the inspirational song of Basil Valdez entitled Ngayon and followed by the Young Superstar Lyca singing the powerful song Nartio Ako of Regine Velasquez. Meanwhile in the Upbeat Round Juan Karlos performed Runaway Baby of Bruno Mars followed by Lyca with Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit song Call Me Maybe. Next was Darlene with a powerful performance of Charice’s Louder and closing the round is Darren with a Justin Beiber hit song Somebody to Love.
