Another Filipina made it big in a foreign land and this time in Israel for The X-Factor Israel that recently concluded with Rose “Osang” Fostanes, a Filipino caregiver as the champion. Osang became the first The X-Factor Israel champion where she performed Frank Sinatra classic “My Way” with an orchestra and received a standing ovation from all the judges and audience at the show. Shiri Maimon her mentor for the over Over 25s category said that she is very proud of her.
Joining Osang in the finale was her sister Nancy, and long-time partner, Mel Adel who were brought by the show in Israel to show her support. With her winning in The X-Factor Israel, Osang at the age of 47 finally reached her dream to be a singer and perform in front of so many people not to mention making her family proud of her. Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Israel showed their support to Osang by voting and campaigning for her to won in the said singing competition.
The X-Factor Israel was hosted by Israeli fashion model Bar Refaeli. Joining Maimon in the mentor panel are Rami Fortis (Girls Category), Moshe Peretz (Boys Category) and Ivri Lider (Group Category). The show started its broadcast last October 26, 2013 in Reshet Channel 2 with venue at the Nokia Arena Tel Aviv.
