After her immediate absence during the height of Typhoon Yolanda coverage of ABS-CBN last week after being criticized by netizens online after lambasting CNN’s reporter Anderson Cooper, ABS-CBN News’ Korina Sanchez now speaks up on the issue of suspension. In her radio show Rated Korina where Jasmin Romero is temporarily hosting; Korina updated her status that she’s now having series of visits in the affected areas of recent calamities including Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) and the Cebu-Bohol earthquake.
In her conversation with Jasmin, Korina clarifies that speculations about her being suspended is not true and her absence on cam that started last week was already planned with her show Rated K. Here’s the video of her short conversation early today at Rated Korina on DZMM TeleRadyo:
The speculation started when Korina reacted on the report of Cooper on CNN on the status of Tacloban City few days after the typhoon. It was a negative reaction where as she mentioned that the CNN reporter didn’t know what he is reporting which immediately connected to Korina as the wife of the current Department of Local and Interior Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas who is heading the rescue and relief operations. Cooper challenges the female local anchor on his conversation with a fellow CNN reporter that she should be on the ground and see for herself what’s happening after all she can do that because she is the wife of the DILG Secretary. Korina’s reaction reaches not only CNN but various local and international news agencies that gained criticism and few days after that she was gone on the studio and speculation started.
Here’s the video of Anderson Cooper explaining himself during his coverage in Tacloban City:
With Korina’s explaining her side, you decide what really happen after all Cooper didn’t made it a big issue at the same time admired the resilience of the Filipino people and the overwhelming support that the world gave to the country.
