Last Sunday at the Solaire Resorts & Casino, the Kapamilya Primetime Teen King and recording artist Daniel Padilla went home as a big winner at the 5th PMPC Star Awards for Music. The lead star of Got To Believe brought home the New Male Recording Artist Award where he defeated Clifford Allen Estrala (Aquarius Records), Khalil Ramos (Star Records), Kimpoy Feliciano (Star Records), Paulo Avelino (Universal Records), Teejay Marquez (Goldmine Productions and Bellhaus Recording) and Xian Lim (Star Records).
He also won the Pop Album of the Year for his self-titled album where other nominees for the category include Isang Sulyap (MCA Music), Julie Anne San Jose (GMA Records), Just For You (Universal Records), The Love Collections (Universal Records), The Songwriter and the Hitmakers (Universal Records) and 3D Tatlong Dekada (Poly East Records).
Daniel Padilla started his recording career last May 2012 where he released his debut album under Star Records with the carrier single Hinahanap-hanap Kita. In less than a week his album reached Gold after being sold more than 10, 000 copies and later sold more than 30, 000 where it was awarded Double Platinum. He also became the big winner at the Himig Handog: P-Pop Love Songs where he won MYX Viewers Choice, MOR Listeners Choice, Star Records Buyers Choice, and Astig ng Bayan Tambayan Choice.
He is also part of the band The Parking 5, where he plays bass and other members are his younger brother JC Padilla, Katsumi Kabe, Lester Giri and Seth Gothico.
