Coming from the successful presentation of Wizard of Oz last year of the Children’s Theater under Repertory Philippines, this year they will be staging the colorful and adventure filled Alice in Wonderland at the Onstage Theater beginning Aug 17 until Dec 15, 2013. The Repertory Philippines’ Theatre for Young Audiences will give life to the fairytale story that is more than 150 years and keep on passing to generation to another and it was based from the book of Lewis Carroll and adapted to theater by Jim Eiler with music by Jim Eiler and Jeanne Bargy and lyrics by Jim Eiler.
Directed by Joy Virata, the Repertory Philippines’ Theatre for Young Audiences presentation of Alice in Wonderland brings Dani Gana and Chaye Mogg who will play Alice alternately together with Bituin Escalante as the Queen of Hearts with alternate Natalie Everett, Liesl Batucan as the Duchess, Nic Campos and Joel Trinidad alternately doing the Mad Hatter character, Josh Ramirez and Chino Veguillas alternately playing TweedleDee and for TweedleDum Dingdong Rosales and Bym Buhain will be doing the role alternately.
This will be second time that Repertory Philippines will be staging Alice in Wonderland the first time was in 1997. The story follows the journey of Alice who fell in a rabbit whole and entered a magical yet filled with challenges world of Wonderland where she met remarkable characters including the cold hearted Queen of Hearts, delusional Mad Hatter, the time conscious Rabbit, the not so smart duo TweedleDee and TweedleDum and the mysterious Cheshire Cat. Her quest to return to her family but until she finishes all the tasks assigned to her.
