He pushes cart to create change to the lives of young Caviteños by bringing education to those who is unfortunate to have one. Efren Peñaflorinda the person behind Dynamic Teen Company and its advocacy Klassrum Kariton proves that not even poverty can hinder one’s dream to read, write, count and to have education of his own and now he is awarded as the CNN Hero of the Year which the actual event will happen on November 22 at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood for the “CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute” and will be telecast on 9 p.m. ET/PT November 26 (0200 GMT November 27) on the global networks of CNN.
“Our planet is filled with heroes, young and old, rich and poor, man, woman of different colors, shapes and sizes. We are one great tapestry,” this was Efren’s statement after receiving the award and the $100,000 prize aside from the $25,000 that the 10 honorees received. Efren is the 3rd Hero named by CNN after the 2008’s Liz McCartney a co-founder of St Bernard Project in Washington, D.C and helps the families rebuild their lives in the devastated St Bernard Parish after the Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.
