Tagaytay City will always be one of the best destinations in the country that offers a relaxing and peaceful place for those who wanted to unwind and have a break from the noise of Metro Manila because of the cool weather and breathtaking sceneries. And now in addition to its attraction as a tourist destination in the country is the Puzzle Mansion located at the Purok 4 Cuadra St. Barangay Asisan and owned by Gina Gil-Lacuna. At first the place is like a common private resort that offers accommodation, deliciously fresh food and a relaxing view of nature.
What’s great in the Puzzle Mansion is that it is the home of a Guinness Book of World Records title – the Largest Collection of Jigsaw Puzzle of Any Shape and Form. The owner Gina Gil-Lacuna is the recipient of this award who has now owned 1, 028 puzzles and still growing. She has a wide variety of jigsaw puzzles ranging from the usual flat paper type that is very common to us to 3D, crystal and wooden puzzles. All her collections can be seen in her puzzle exhibit at the Puzzle Mansion which entrance fee is only as low as Php100.
Ms. Gina has a variety of jigsaw puzzles including the artworks of famous painters like Van Gough, Michael Angelo, and Pablo Picasso. There are also sceneries and building, celebrities and brands and even maps. She also included in her exhibit her first ever jigsaw puzzle that she did for his son when he is young showing Disney characters including Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. For Ms. Gina at first it was very challenging to put all the puzzles together which according to her it really requires patience and focus in fulfilling her hobby. If ever you are lucky when you visit the Puzzle Mansion she is there to join you in the tour and will be sharing her inspiring story while discussing her collection that made her a Filipino pride.
The Puzzle Mansion is open everyday it accepts walk-in for the exhibit and for room reservations please call (+632) 661.0019 or visit www.thepuzzlemansion.com.
