On October 16 – 18 as part of the United Nation’s End Poverty Millennium Campaign, UN launches Stand Up and Take Action to End Poverty, it’s a global effort that invites all to participate and take actions on the issues of poverty in the world.
Last year naisulat ko sa as Blog Action Day 2008 where I discuss the faces of poverty; Physical, Mental, Spiritual and Emotional poverty which covers 5 of the 8 Millennium Development Goals that was discussed last 2000 and signed by 189 world leaders and the MDGs discussed on my BAD’08 post were:
1. Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
2. Achieve universal primary education
3. Promote gender equality and empower women
4. Reduce child mortality
5. Improve maternal health
The remaining MDGs include:
6. Combat HIV/AIDs, malaria, and other diseases
7. Ensure environmental sustainability
8. Develop a global partnership for development
Number 6 and 7 is also part my advocacy which is AIDS/HIV and climate change awareness.
