On August 19, each one of us will be playing a certain role in our community as we pay tribute to every man and woman who gives wholeheartedly their lives, time and love to other people who are in need. The celebration is World Humanitarian Day which it is on its 9th year since it was established in 2003 to remember the 22 humanitarians who were killed after the bombing in the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad, Iraq.
We honor their contributions to the communities where hope is hard to reach and faith slowly withers. They sacrifice their lives for others to give them hope and make their faith on themselves strong, And now, in the World Humanitarian Day 2012 that will happen on August 19 with the message 1 Day, 1 World, 1 Message of HOPE we honor the heroes of the communities giving unconditional love and a hand to reach those who are in need. With the I Was Here project, it encourages everyone to do something for their community, no matter it is big or small as long as you extended that love to others. Whether you give a sandwich to the homeless, visit an elderly person, help an old person cross the street, help clean your local park, stand for the person being picked up and many good things you can do for others.
In line with this campaign, the award winning singer and songwriter Beyoncé joins the world in celebration of the World Humanitarian Day 2012. With the 30 seconds video where she campaigned for the 1 Day, 1 World, 1 Message she encourages everyone to take part of doing good for others which will eventually sparks a fire inside us to be humanitarians in our own way.
