Battleship is not just ordinary alien fighting movie and how actors try to defend the world from them. This Universal Pictures action film distributed by Solar Entertainment in the Philippines stars Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker, Rihanna, and Liam Neeson under the direction of Peter Berg. It is showing in all cinemas nationwide in 3D and regular format.
Like what I mentioned is not just an ordinary alien fighting movie where aliens tries to invade the world and take it as their own. Being a person who loves the battleship game which I played in Atari not so long year ago it is about strategy which became the main theme of the film as shown in the ability of Captain Nagata (Tadanobu Asano) during the invasion. Yes he was my favorite character in the film next to Rihanna who played Cora, the crew mate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones (Kitsch). It was actually Rihanna’s first acting role aside from cameos she done in some movies. Though she had only 1-liners in most of the scenes and keeps humming as I wait for her to break on a song, she really fit for the role as a strong, fierce and a woman who is ready to fight who is facing the challenge that either the save the world or not from the aliens.
It’s all about strategy, this is something the movie goers should look forward to in the film on how they uses alternative methods in fighting the aliens, and of course the visual effects and huge vessels and ships that will really excite everyone. It was actually great that the film created a backgrounder on how the aliens reach the Earth and their aim to invade it. It gives a better approach to the storyline aside from the usual alien just came in the Earth wanted to invade us and we won over them because of our heroes who fight them back.
3D or regular format? I say must check it on 3D IMAX or Digital 3D that has a good surround sound that will really keep your adrenalin high as you watch this movie. But that’s just my review on the movie but I am sure you will enjoy it a lot.
