After the success of Walt Disney in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise which star Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski brings Depp and Armie Hammer together in a comedy adventure film entitled The Lone Ranger. The film also stars Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter. It will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International through Columbia Pictures on May 2013.
The Lone Ranger follows the adventure of a Native American spirit warrior named Tonto (Depp) that recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice. With action and comedy combined on this film, it will take the movie goers to a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction where the two heroes must work together in order to fight greed and corruption in the land.
The film is a Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films presentation which includes Jerry Bruckheimer as one of the producers. The Lone Ranger was written by Ted Elliott & Terry Rossio and Eric Aronson and Justin Haythe.
