As Repertory Philippines stages the dark musical Jekyll & Hyde in Onstage Greenbelt 1 in Makati City on March 16 to April 15, veteran stage actor Junix Inocian will be joining Jet Pangan, Michel Williams, Cris Villongco, Kilila Aguilos and Jaime Inocian in the cast. Playing the role of Gabriel John Utterson, Dr. Henry Jekyll’s lawyer and friend, Junix will help the viewers see the good side of the character that alternately played by Jet Pangan and Michel Williams and later moving to the dark side as Edward Hyde.
Junix is a Repertory Philippines member where his first play was in the 1978 production of A Fiddler on the Roof as Lazar Wolfe and it was directed by Zenaida Amador. Other big production includes The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, Sweeney Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Children of a Lesser God, Little Shop of Horror, Arsenic and Old Lace, The Pirates of Penzance, and Mass Appeal. He also appears on TV in shows like Batibot as Kuya Mario.
In 1989, he joined Lea Salonga, Monique Wilson, Jon Jon Briones, Michael Williams, and Cocoy Laurel in London for the presentation of Miss Saigon at the Royal Drury Lane Theatre. From 1992 to 1994, he played the role of the Engineer.
Junix Inocian whose real name is Rufino Duran Inocian Jr. graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree at the Siliman University in Dumaguete City.
