Robert Downey Jr., and Jude Law is back on the big screen as they reprises their roles as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson in the sequel of the 2009 film Sherlock Holmes which now entitled Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. The action mystery film will be showing in all cinemas nationwide beginning January 8, 2012 and was directed by Guy Ritchie. The movie based from the fictional character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle also stars Noomi Rapace, Jared Harris, Stephen Fry, Kelly Reilly and Rachel McAdams.
The Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows introduces Professor Moriarty (Harris) as the newest archenemy of Sherlock and the reason of the massacre of different officials and diplomats as he plan to wage war among European countries. The film maintains the texture and darkness of what is was shown on the 2009 Sherlock movie. It maintains the mood on how the dark the story really was and the mystery it suggested.
What I enjoyed in the film is that even it is a period movie, the way it was presented and the execution of the fight scenes really gives that adrenalin rush that everyone will really love. I don’t want to give too much spoiler but everyone should watch our the running in the woods scenes that everyone will really enjoy and will hold on to their seats as they will be amazed in every angles and visual effects that the movie will give.
Lastly, the chemistry of Downey Jr., and Law is still powerful in terms of their exchange of sarcastic jokes and conversations. And of course on how Watsons reacts to the outrageous act of Holmes. The film also introduces Rapace in her first English movie which everyone should watch her in the movie.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows will be showing in all cinemas nationwide and it will be distributed by Warner Bros Pictures.
