At the recent DITO year-end thanksgiving event, CEO Eric Alberto revealed that DITO has earned the title of the Philippines’ Fastest Mobile Network* by independent mobile analytics firm Opensignal, leading in 14 categories and surpassing the country’s two telecom giants in the speed race.
“I’m honored to announce that independent mobile analytics company Opensignal has recognized DITO as the Fastest Mobile Network in the Philippines, where we excelled in the speed race. These milestones go beyond awards—they represent DITO’s commitment to quality and highlight the strength and reliability of our network,” said Alberto.
According to Opensignal’s October 2024 Mobile Network Experience report, DITO shone in several categories, emerging as the fastest and most awarded telco in terms of 5G speeds and overall network experience.
In terms of speed, DITO swept all four speed awards, excelling in both overall and 5G speeds. DITO led with a 5G download speed of 287.2 Mbps, nearly double that of Smart’s 147.5 Mbps and far surpassing Globe’s 95.2 Mbps. Users also experienced the fastest overall download speeds on DITO’s network at 34.6 Mbps, ahead of Smart’s 28.6 Mbps and Globe’s 20.9 Mbps.
2024 has truly been a breakout year for DITO. Alberto also highlighted other key achievements, including the successful completion of DITO’s fifth and final technical audit with 86.3% coverage, reaching 14 million subscribers, and securing back-to-back Ookla wins as the #1 Rated Mobile Network in the Philippines (Q3-Q4 2023 and Q1-Q2 2024). With the Fastest Mobile Network* award now added, DITO has made remarkable strides in the country’s telecom industry.
