Counting down to its official release in theaters on December 25, as one of the most anticipated entries in the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival, GMA Pictures unveils a new teaser for the film, featuring Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid.
In the teaser, Ruru, portraying a prison guard, discovers a tree where prisoners tie their wishes, known as the Tree of Hope. He is also shown holding a small bone with a green hue. According to Chinese culture, having green bones after cremation signify that the person lived a life of virtue. Meanwhile, Dennis plays one of the prisoners central to the story.
The film is directed by Zig Dulay, the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival Best Director for Firefly. It is based on an original story by JC Rubio, senior documentary manager at GMA Public Affairs, and written by National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Ricky Lee, in collaboration with Anj Atienza. It is produced by GMA Pictures and Public Affairs, and will be distributed by Columbia Pictures.
Aside from Green Bones, fans of Dennis Trillo can catch him in Pulang Araw, while Ruru Madrid is set to make his TV comeback in Lolong 2, slated for release in 2025 following the success of Black Rider.
