Renowned audio equipment manufacturer, JBL, revives the iconic JBL L100 speaker from the 1970s and the timeless turntable with a blend of modern technologies while preserving their retro designs. Recently unveiled during an exclusive launch event in the Philippines, JBL’s latest product duo is set to elevate nostalgic audio experiences to new heights, offering immersive sound, wireless connectivity, and sleek aesthetics. In addition to this, the brand has introduced a lineup of other forthcoming audio innovations.
Inspired by products of yesteryears, the Authentics range incorporates elements from some of JBL’s most iconic designs, including the Quadrex grille pattern from the hugely popular JBL L100 home speakers that were first introduced in 1970. These classic elements are harmoniously fused with contemporary touches such as smooth, flowing edges and a subtle convex form that hints at the power of dynamic sound waves. JBL’s Authentics range, along with the new Spinner BT turntable, seamlessly marries timeless heritage designs with cutting-edge audio technologies, ensuring that the sound remains eternally stylish.
The Authentics Speaker range proudly carries forward JBL’s heritage and unique 70s design elements, featuring the Quadrex grille pattern, a premium aluminum frame, and a custom leather-like enclosure. This distinctive retro finish perfectly complements the aesthetics of the 20th century, making a bold statement of taste and style.
JBL’s commitment to environmental responsibility is reflected in the series, which incorporates materials like 100% recycled fabric, 85% recycled plastics, and 50% aluminum. The products are packaged in FSC-certified carton boxes printed with soy ink.
The Authentics series enables the whole family to enjoy music streaming services in stunning high definition via built-in Wi-Fi or through platforms like AirPlay, Alexa Multi-Room Music (MRM), Chromecast built-in, and Spotify Connect for a seamless and interruption-free listening experience. Users can also access Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa simultaneously, granting them the freedom and convenience to control various smart home devices and play music from different streaming services hands-free. The series boasts effortless Bluetooth pairing and user-friendly controls via the JBL One app.
Catering to the contemporary sounds of today, the Authentics range comes in three variations: The JBL Authentics 500, which offers Dolby Atmos® music performance for a room-filling, immersive sound; The JBL Authentics 300, equipped with a convenient metal handle and an 8-hour built-in battery for portable sound; and the compact JBL Authentics 200, known for filling any space with substantial, well-balanced sound, exceptional clarity, and deep bass.
The JBL Spinner BT’s vibrant design and elegant finish feature an aluminum platter and tonearm, a black MDF plinth with JBL’s distinctive orange or gold accents, a contemporary front panel, and a hinged dust cover, all contributing to its aesthetic appeal. This turntable produces smooth, distortion-free sound driven by a belt drive and motor with an optical sensor underneath. The die-cast aluminum platter ensures records are played perfectly in time at 33⅓ rpm for albums or 45 rpm for EPs and singles. The black MDF plinth enhances sound tonality for an uncompromised listening experience.
And for those who like to party, JBL offers the PartyBox Ultimate, the loudest speaker ever that takes your gatherings to a whole new level. It provides superior Original JBL Pro Sound with an immersive Dolby Atmos® experience over Wi-Fi. The PartyBox Ultimate features captivating starry lights, cool light trails, and strobe effects, all synchronized with the beat of the music. With a pair of 9-inch subwoofers, it’s loud enough to cover two basketball courts, making it perfect for reunions and gatherings.
