Happening on September 7-10, Ayala Malls Circuit Makati will be the venue of the much-awaited Manila Improv Fest 2023. It will be 4 days containing 14 shows featuring 70 acts and 12 workshops from over 15 countries with 300 talented improvisers.
Organized by the Silly People’s Improv Theater (SPIT), the Manila Improv Festival (MIF) has garnered an increasingly dedicated following among improvisers, enthusiasts, and fans from around the world. As it celebrates its sixth edition, MIF reflects on its remarkable journey since its inaugural event in 2004.
In 2015, SPIT also initiated Third World Improv, welcoming individuals eager to embrace the joys of improv. This year, more than 20 improv groups from the Philippines are actively participating in the festival. This undeniable surge in participation signifies the rapid expansion of our thriving improv community, which is further solidified by TWI’s role as the nation’s inaugural institution dedicated to imparting the art and craftsmanship of improvisational theater. Presently, TWI boasts a thriving community of over 500 students, with its numbers continuing to swell.
