About 260 families received help in Sorsogon as ABS-CBN Foundation made its way to the province after Mt. Bulusan’s recent steam-blast explosion.
Led by the ABS-CBN News Public Service team, the ABS-CBN Foundation delivered food packs, hygiene kits, water, and vitamins to residents of Brgy. Puting Sapa, Juban whose lives were disrupted as ash from the volcanic eruption covered their homes and entire villages.
Meanwhile, the hope of farmers from Bucas Grande Island in Socorro, Surigao del Norte was strengthened with the arrival of home repair kits early this month as they continue to recover from the destruction caused by Super Typhoon Odette more than five months ago.
“Ito ‘yung sitwasyon namin. Hindi pa rin stable. Hindi pa siya gaano ka permanent ‘yung tirahan namin,” shared one of the recipients Sha Harim Antegro in a “TV Patrol” report.
(This is our situation. It is still not stable. Our homes are not that fit yet as permanent shelter,” shared one of the recipients Sha Harim Antegro in a “TV Patrol” report.)
Purok Chairman Romero Henson Ajoc also thanked ABS-CBN for extending help and delivering the construction materials even after the shutdown of its broadcast operations, including its regional stations.
“Kahit wala na sa ano (ere) ‘yung ABS-CBN pero patuloy pa rin ang kanilang pamamahagi. Maraming salamat,” he said.
(“Even if it’s no longer on air, ABS-CBN still continues to help. Thank you so much,” he said.)
