Kapamilya fans took to social media to pledge their love and support for ABS-CBN as the hashtag #KapamilyaForever clinched the top 1 spot on the list of trending topics on Twitter Philippines and also entered Twitter’s worldwide trends yesterday (July 1).
Fans on Twitter said their support for ABS-CBN will never waver and that they will patiently wait for its big comeback on free TV. The sentiments of fans were aptly captured by the tweet of user @iamgino_galadam who said, “we had you at your best and we’ll stay at your worst, @abscbn. #KapamilyaForever.”
Netizens also lauded ABS-CBN for giving breaks to new talents like Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano who are making waves through their hit series “He’s Into Her” that is the top 1 most watched series on iWantTFC.
Other fans also thanked the brightest stars of ABS-CBN for choosing to stay with the company despite the uncertainty. Some of the stars that were mentioned in the tweets were Angel Locsin, Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Jodi Sta Maria, Vice Ganda, Liza Sobernao, Toni Gonzaga, and Sarah Geronimo.
The confidence of fans was also boosted by Anne Curtis who tweeted yesterday that she’s not leaving ABS-CBN as she will return to “It’s Showtime” to be with the madlang pipol again.
Speaking of forever, it seems ABS-CBN and Kumu’s partnership is on its road to forever as both companies announced today (July 2) that they are collaborating on a movie that will be released this 2021. ABS-CBN’s managing director, Olivia Lamasan, broke the announcement on a livestream in the Facebook page of Star Magic. Inang Olive said that no less than Cathy Garcia-Molina will be directing the upcoming Star Cinema and Kumu movie.
Inang Olive didn’t spill a lot of details, but she said the project will surely be a kiligfest because of Direk Cathy and will also tackle love for family.
The project will star the new breed of talents from Star Magic and Rise Artists that solid Kapamilya fans should definitely watch out for, as it is a project that will definitely make history in Philippine entertainment.
This just goes to show that even without a franchise, ABS-CBN is still here and it is finding new ways to make Filipinos happy.
