ABS-CBN Film Restoration celebrates Maricel Soriano’s 50th showbiz anniversary with the premiere of her movie “Soltera,” which also starred Diether Ocampo and Claudine Barretto, at the Sagip Pelikula Festival on KTX on June 3 (Thursday), 7:30 PM.
Maricel and Diether portray Sandra and Eric, who are engaged in an intense May-December love affair. Sandra is a successful wedding planner who is afraid of spending the rest of her life alone. She falls in love with Eric, an indecisive young man who constantly courted her. Despite their vast age difference and contrasting outlooks in life, they try to defy the odds that come with their affair. But things take a swerve as Eric’s restlessness draws him to Sandra’s beloved assistant, Lisa (Claudine).
Intense confrontations ensue as Eric’s infidelity is unraveled but Sandra soon finds out she is pregnant with his child. Will Sandra’s heart be filled with resentment or will she finally learn to forgive those who have wronged her?
Directed by the veteran director Jerry Lopez Sineneng and co-written with acclaimed filmmaker Jun Lana, Star Cinema’s 1999 movie also stars Raymond Bagatsing, Maila Gumila, Nida Blanca, Edu Manzano, among many others.
