After the trending release of the Hyun Bin commercial last May 29, Smart Communications, Inc. officially welcomes the phenomenal Korean drama actor popularly known as Captain Ri from his series Crash Landing On You (CLOY).
This is the first time that a local telecoms company has tapped a South Korean superstar to be the face of its brand and is a bold statement for Smart as it asserts its commitment to bring amazing experiences to Filipinos through digital technology. According to Jane Basas, SVP and Head of Consumer Wireless Business at Smart, Hyun Bin’s characters resonates to the Pinoy audience that makes him the right choice to become a Smart brand endorser.
Hyun Bin’s breakthrough series is My Name Is Kim Sam Soon that aired in 2005. His other successful KDrama next to CLOY are Secret Garden, Hyde Jekyll, Me and Memories of the Alhambra.
Meanwhile, in regards with the commercial shooting and other promo shoots, Alfredo S. Panlilio, Smart President and CEO and PLDT Chief Revenue Officer shared that with the help of technology they pulled off the shooting with the Korean production and they are very happy with the outcome despite with global situation in connection with the COVID19.
In the latest commercial, Smart also unveiled its latest campaign “Simple, Smart Ako,” which is the sum up of the company’s approach all this time to make amazing technology available, and more importantly, simple for every Filipino according to Panlilio.
Aside from Hyun Bin on-boarding with Smart, Basas also shared that they are also working their best to offer better internet connection through enhancing infrastructure and offering promos that will address the needs of the community. According to her, Smart is firm to its goal to be part of everyone’s ecosystem to offer them reliable service in this trying time.
Smart recently added the Giga Works promo bundle last April to enable working force whose work relies with the internet. It includes online video meeting applications such as Webex, Google Hangouts and Meet, online payment apps like GrabPay and Paymaya and reselling related apps like LalaMove, Grab, Lazada and Shopee.
In regards with the opening of schools on August and online classes is one of the options. Smart is now working to collaborate with different organizations to offer affordable promo that will address the situation of education as part of the “new normal” due to pandemic.
