UiPath, the leading Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software company, is today announcing the opening of their Hong Kong office. Headed by Tommy Fung, Sales Director – Greater China Region, the expansion will allow UiPath to service clients in Hong Kong and China. The expansion follows a recent USD$30 million funding round that has allowed UiPath to further develop its technology, and expand into key markets where demand for automation is strong and growing.
“Hong Kong, with its well-developed financial sector, can reap significant benefits from RPA” says Tommy Fung, adding “from wealth management to retail banking, Hong Kong is a leading financial player in the region. Additionally, RPA is an emerging technology in Greater China, with many companies going beyond exploration, and now willing to adopt RPA in much larger numbers. UiPath’s RPA solutions are able to automate many of the rules-based, repetitive tasks that firms are currently forced to perform, freeing up available talent to do more value-added tasks.”
UiPath’s RPA solutions are some of the most sophisticated available, and incorporate computer vision and cognitive capabilities that enable fast and smooth automation of tasks across multiple platforms. Continued investment in technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will allow the firm to automate much larger amounts of unstructured data.
Currently, the Asia Pacific region accounts for approximately 10% of the global RPA market[1], which is expected to grow to US$9 Billion globally by 2024[2]. “Our core industries are Insurance and BPO, and we already work with globally-recognised firms including GuangZhou Shared Services Center, McDonald’s and Zurich” says Ashwani Kohli, Vice President & Head APAC for UiPath, adding “with this new office we will continue to grow these industries in Hong Kong and China, as well as expand further into banking, IT, trading and other areas. Our new office provides us with the team, and language capability, to be able to do this.”
The Hong Kong office is a continuation of UiPath’s global expansion, which has seen new openings in the USA, Singapore, Japan and Australia so far in 2017, with more in the pipeline in the coming 12 months.
