It is official, the contract between the Miss World Organization and the Philippine partners including LCS Group, Department of Tourism, Okada Hotel, Solar Entertainment and SM Lifestyle Entertainment Inc was signed on November 16 at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La Hotel. Miss Universe Organization Vice President for Business Operation Shawn McClain, LCS Group Founder and Chairman Emeritus Luis “Chavit” Singsong and DOT Assistant Secretary Frederick M. Alegre were present to sign the contract to formalize Philippines as the venue of the 65th Miss Universe that will happen on January 30, 2017 at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena.
McClain shared that since Pia Wurtzbach won the crown last December 2015, the Philippines became an instant interest for everyone and he shared that he visited the country several times. And he is excited to witness the crowning of Pia’s successor in her homeland.
Meanwhile, Chavit was very ecstatic to share that their company is part of making a shining history on finding Pia’s successor and according to him that it was an honor to bring Miss Universe competition back in the Philippines.

Miss Universe was held in 1994 and 1974. Up to date, Philippines has already three winners including Pia, Margie Moran (1973) and Gloria Diaz (1969).
