After winning Php 1 Million in Minute To Win It Last Man Standing, another good news arrive in the doorsteps of Jodi Sta. Maria. Jodi was nominated in the 2016 International Emmy Awards for the category Best Performance by an Actress after playing the role Amor Powers in Pangako Sa’Yo. She will be competing with Judi Dench (United Kingdom), Grazi Massafera (Brazil), and Christiane Paul (Germany).
Aside from Jodi, the Kapamilya show Bridges of Love that stars Maja Salvador, Jericho Rosales and Paulo Avelino is nominated in the Best Telenovela category. The show is competing with 30 Vies – Samuel Pagé of Canada, A Regra do Jogo (Rules of the Game) of Brazil and Verdades Secretas (Hidden Truths).
This is not the first time for ABS-CBN to receive nominations from the International Emmys, whereas they already scored nominations including “Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Impostor” (Best Telenovela) in 2011, “Dahil May Isang Ikaw” (Best Telenovela) and Sid Lucero in “Dahil May Isang Ikaw” (Best Actor) in 2010, and “Kahit Isang Saglit” (Best Telenovela) and Angel Locsin in “Lobo” (Best Actress) in 2009.
Aside from that, the ABS-CBN chief content officer Charo Santos-Concio was chosen as the Gala Chair for the 43rd International Emmy® Awards and opened the gala before the world’s best producers, creatives, and talents. She is the first Filipino Gala Chair invited to participate in the prestigious event.
The winners will be announced on November 21.
