The inauguration of the 16th President and Vice-President of the Republic of the Philippines will happen on June 30 with their official function will start at 12pm. And opposite to the traditional oath taking in Quirino Grandstand in Luneta, the incoming President Rodrigo Duterte will have his oath at the Rizal Ceremonial Hall of Malacanang Palace. And he will have his inauguration separately with the incoming Vice President Leni Robredo who will be having it in the Quezon City Reception House that was once known as the Boracay Mansion. Duterte expects around 600 guests that include his cabinet secretaries and allies in the political arena while Robredo is expecting around 300.
Opposite from the lavish banquet from their predecessors, Duterte will be having a simple miryenda that include monggo soup, smoked fish with alugbati in demitasse cups, pandesal with kesong puti and Vigan longganisa grilled on the spot, lumpia ubod pouch, durian tartlet, fried saba using Carbava banana, dalandan juice and pine-mango coole courtesy of Via Mare.
Meanwhile, Robredo will be having sotanghon, maja blanca, pichi-pichi, three kinds of pandesal, turon and butchi with chocnut courtesy of Verleo Catering.
The decision to have separate inauguration came from Duterte’s camp with the reason the space of the Rizal Ceremonial Hall is limited and Robredo’s have problem in inviting her friends and allies. Robredo will have victory party in the Quezon City Memorial Circle.
