Last June 13 at the Shangri-La Makati, PLDT and Smart Chairman and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan unveils the new logos of PLDT Inc and Smart Communications Inc. The two new logos are triangular in shape or in represents the symbol Delta in the Greek alphabet, which means change. It symbolizes powerful convergence of PLDT and Smart, combining fixed and wireless technologies to serve individual and enterprise customers. PLDT Inc’s logo plays with the color of the name of the company with the gray base and the last logo of PLDT was 33 years ago. Meanwhile, Smart who updated their logo last 2011 with the bubbles on top of the company name now changes to green including the name with blue on the base.
Aside from the new logo, the company has allocated P43 billion for capital expenditures. Around $100 million more in capex will likely be earmarked, following the acquisition of the telecoms business of San Miguel Corp. which included the utilization of the so-called digital dividend, the 700 MHz frequency band. With the expanding services that the company offers, the digital services that SMART and PLDT offer are making things easier for their partners. From more affordable cable services in Cignal TV to digital and financial technology in SMART Money, PayMaya and others.
Aside from that they pioneered data sharing service both available through PLDT Home and SMART, wide range of devices for entertainment and learning devices like the TelPad, revolutionizing computers to instant TV through TVolution Stick and security at home with the FamCam, where it acts as CCTV and you can check through your laptop and mobile devices.
