Aside from various events in different historic sites in the Philippines, there are gathering of Filipinos in abroad and posting messages about freedom and love for the country on social media in line with the 118th Philippine Independence Day on June 12. The Philippine flag became prominent, which is the major symbol of the country even in other countries too.
But unlike with other countries, the Philippine flag that displayed with blue on the top (horizontal) and blue on the life (vertical) means the country is at peace. But when the red is on top or on the life side it means that the country is at war. Which unfortunately Facebook has posted a photo with red on top and netizens reacted on that. Mobile and desktop users can still see the post of Facebook.
It is very important that everyone should remember the proper way to display the flag and how to take care of it. There are laws governing it and above all it is the symbol of the freedom loving Filipinos. Happy Independence
