Senator Grace Poe, standard bearer of Gobyernong may Puso (GP) decided to concede to Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte who is getting huge number of votes from the presidential race last night. Poe dropped from 2nd and 3rd from the counting stared. At first she was in the 2nd until Liberal Party presidential candidate took over. The gap if Duterte from the second and third were big since from the start of the counting.
In her message, Poe said that she’s giving way to Duterte. She now joins the nation in the healing after the conflict made by the election. She called Duterte last night to congratulate him. It was confirmed by Duterte that Poe called him and he promised that they will work together in nation building. Poe will return to senate to finish her 3 years as a senator.
Meanwhile, Poe’s running mate Chiz Escudero conceded after ranking in the Vice President poll where LP’s Leni Robredo and Bongbong Marcos are ranking 1st and 2nd in the resend partial and unofficial tally of votes of COMELEC. Even though he conceded, he didn’t concede to anyone yet because of the tight competition between Robredo and Marcos. In the interview of Escudero he said that he hopes Robredo to win the position. Like Poe, Escudero will return to the senate to serve his remaining years in his term.
