Two Pinoy pride meet in the Broadway production of Allegiance at the Longacre Theater in New York City, Broadway Diva Lea Salonga who plays one of the lead role in the musical had the chance to meet with the newly crowned Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wutzbach. In the backstage after the January 10 run of the show, the two meet and exchange few words.
After their meeting, Pia posted in the Miss Universe Facebook Page: “Finally watched Allegiance last night! Starring Ms Lea Salonga, who is also Filipina. Superb performance from the whole cast. I had tears in my eyes by the end of the show. – Pia”.
Lea started bringing honor to the country when she entered international theater. She started as Kim in the Miss Saigon and not played numerous roles in international and local theater aside from the TV and movie appearances. Lea became one of the judges in Miss Universe 2011 whereas Leila Lopes of Angola won the crown and Philippines’ candidate Shamcey Supsup bagged 3rd Runner-Up.
