A crucial ingredient to an organization’s success in today’s competitive marketplace is employee engagement, defined by human resource practitioners as the emotional commitment of each employee to his organization and its goals.
ADP®, a leading global provider of Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions understands that it is important for its associates to embody its values – one of which is Social Responsibility. This value highlights giving back to the communities in which we work and live. It is important to encourage and support ADP associates’ commitment to giving back and helping to improve communities.
To further enhance its employees’ engagement, ADP puts a premium on various factors such as job satisfaction, leadership effectiveness, and implements corporate social responsibility or CSR programs that give their associates opportunities to make a difference in society.
ADP Philippines’ Head of Associate Engagement & Communication Joanne Topacio noted that associates tend to be more engaged when they know that they are working for a company that is socially responsible.
ADP Philippines’ social commitment takes reality mainly through its local program called Corporate Involvement and Responsibility to the Community, Learning and Environment (CIRCLE), which focuses on three pillars: community building, education and environment.
Every year, ADP associates across the globe are given the opportunity to get involved in a variety of community activities that support corporate social responsibility highlighted during the ADP Global Month of Caring. This celebration is all about making a positive impact in the lives of others. ADP’s business is grounded in this very concept, and its commitment to helping people is exemplified in its tagline – “A more human resource”.
In the Philippines, during the observance of Month of Caring last May, ADP (Philippines) associates contributed whatever they could for students of Barangay Looc Elementary School in Nasugbu, Batangas. The donation drive was able to gather school supplies, books, clothing and footwear, and sporting goods.
“Month of Caring is just one of the many platforms where we reiterate how we care about our associates, clients, our clients’ employees and the communities where we work and live in order to make a positive impact on the lives of others,” Topacio stressed.
“We are proud that our associates want to give back to their communities with over 4,100 volunteer hours last fiscal year. The goal is to continue inspiring the associates to extend this passion to their own communities as well.” she added.
Worldwide, at least 100 events were carried out during the ADP Global Month of Caring in support of such organizations as Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, Special Olympics, and local food banks.
