ABS–CBN Lingkod Kapamilya and its social enterprise arm G Stuff recently announced the launch of the first-ever Health and Wellness Fair, the country’s premier gathering of providers of organic produce and holistic wellness activities. This will be held on October 2 to 4, 2015 (Friday to Sunday) at the Rockwell Tent in Makati City.
The three-day event will feature exciting booths and fun mini-sessions on health and wellness spearheaded by some of the country’s experts in their fields. For an entrance fee of Php200, guests can already participate in some of the programs such as “Organic Vegetable Farming in Your Own Backyard” by Gil Carandang, “Overcoming Cancer” by Bettina Osmena and “Eating the Right Food to Cure Your Illnesses” by Dr. Albert Jo. They can even shop for fresh produce specially curated by the Department of Agriculture.
Guests can also reserve a seat to partake of exclusive dinners and a brunch prepared by some of the country’s top chefs. On October 2, Chef Jessie Sioco will whip up a delightful Filipino-inspired dinner. October 3 will be a culinary tour-de-force with Chefs Robby Goco, Ramon Antonio, Mikel Zaguirre and Miko Aspiras combining forces to prepare a dinner to remember. Last but not the least, Chef Khalel Chan of the Raintree Group will helm the brunch on October 4. Ticket prices for the curated meals will be announced soon.
By joining the Health and Wellness Fair, attendees will not only nourish their bodies and spirits but also nourish the Philippines by supporting local agriculture. The event will raise funds for farmers from Sibuyan and Guimaras to create an infrastructure and distribution system that will make organic produce more accessible to the market. The Departure of Agriculture will be giving the seeds and training to the farming communities while the Philippine Military will be offering their assistance by providing manpower to plant crops and trees especially in conflict areas in the country.
“ The Health & Wellness Fair closes the loop in this long and often trying journey for our farmers. G Stuff would like to bring the best of the Filipino farmers’ bounty closer to our homes. The fair is just the first step at a bigger movement to encourage Filipinos to live lives that nourish their bodies, nourish their spirit, and nourish their country. Today, more Filipinos are becoming more conscious and mindful about their health. We want them to realize that doing this does not have to be too expensive and difficult for them, while understanding that by making better decisions, they can make an impact in the lives of our farmers, and on a bigger scale, our country,” said Gina Lopez, G Stuff Founder.
Tickets to the Health & Wellness Fair at the Rockwell Tent are sold at the G Stuff stores in Rockwell Power Plant Mall, Trinoma and Ayala Town Center and the ABS CBN Foundation Office, Mother Ignacia Road, Quezon City.
