After one week of being inside the house, the teen housemates Kenzo Gutierrez of Quezon City and Bailey May of United Kingdom become close to each other. And that closeness became an instant trending topic among netizens who shared the photos of the two housemates hugging, holding hands and more. Netizens labeled it bromance or brewing relationship inside the Pinoy Big Brother 737 house. Big Brother asked his resident psychologist Dr. Randy Dellosa to explain what’s happening inside the house together with his host Toni Gonzaga-Soriano to throw questions.
“It’s more about brotherly love, a deep friendship between two males.” This was the message of Dr. Dellosa regarding the Kenzo-Bailey relationship inside the house. He said that housemates inside the house of PBB may feel lonely inside and they seek for affection to their fellow housemate to get support while they are inside the house. That’s the reason why housemates are becoming touchy and emotional according to Dr. Dellosa He also explained that their family also plays a role in their lives whereas both of them are the only son in their respective family and share a longing for a brother.
Dr. Dellarosa also said that the negative reaction about the “bromance” between Kenzo and Bailey came from Filipinos who are not exposed to shifting changes in “gender expectations.” According to him that this way it can educate other Filipinos to the changes in “gender expectations” in connection with the culture especially now. He said that before the men should be tough, rough and emotionless now we should be in touch with both our male and female sides.
