After the successful penetration of Starmobile’s KNIGHT X in the smartphone market, another breakthrough in the world of Android smartphone in the Philippines is the release of the first Pinoy Android smartphone with a built-in Digital TV (DTV) receiver that will be available this April under Starmobile for only Php 9, 990. Running in Android Kitkat operating system, the new KNIGHT Vision will be powered by 1.3 Ghz Quad Core ARM Cortex A7 processor with MediaTek MT6582 chipset. The new Starmobile smartphone has a dimension of 154x78x8.5 mm with the weight of 161 grams.
Meanwhile on the birth of digital television in the Philippines that was introduced by ABS-CBN through TV Plus, Starmobile joins the campaign and this time they will be having a built-in Digital TV (DTV) receiver on the new KNIGHT Vision. Unlike regular Analog TV broadcasts, DTV uses digital TV signals to deliver clean and crisp images and audio comparable to that of cable TV. There is no static, thus resulting in crystal clear audio and pictures wherever DTV services are available nationwide. With the mandate of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) that TV stations make the shift to DTV broadcast within the next 3 to 5 years. Starmobile is proud to say that their KNIGHT Vision is compatible with the NTC’s DTV standard.
Aside from the DTV capability, the KNIGHT Vision of Starmobile also boasts of a camera with a built-in Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS). The key features of the OIS are that it minimizes image shaking when taking photos or videos and enables users to take sharper photos compares to phones with non-OIS cameras. Regarding camera, the Starmobile KNIGHT Vision has 13 MP rear camera with AF Sony IMX Exmor RS with OIS while front camera is 8MP AF Sony.
The KNIGHT Vision of Starmobile has 16 GB internal memory with external microSD card slot that can accommodate up to 64GB more of external storage. It has 2450 mAh battery that can last up to 360 hrs standby time.
