After the announcement of the first batch of semi-finalists of Asia’s Got Talent last April 9, Filipino talents Gwyneth Dorado and the Velasco Brothers are included in the group. The two contestants will be competing with each other and the other 6 contestants including Triqstar and Gonzo from Japan, Oscar Chu from Taiwan, The Brothers from Indonesia, Nitish Bharti from India and the first golden buzzer contestant to compete in the semis Gao Lin and Liu Xin from China.
Gwyneth was the 10-year old kid who played guitar singing Roar last March 16. Asia’s Got Talent judges were amazed in her performance especially David Foster who signed her guitar on stage. She was invited to stand in front of the judges where Melanie C, Anggus and Vanness Wu also said yes to her. Watch her performance below:
Meanwhile, The Velasco Brothers who landed 2nd Place in the Pilipinas Got Talent Season 1 in 2010 once again tried their luck in Asia’s Got Talent. With their acrobatic skills, Melanie C and Anggun enjoyed their performance. They got all yes from the judges including Vanness and David. The two Filipino acts will be facing with the equally talented contestants from other countries, Triqstar group is known for their neo-traditional dance performance, Gonzo wows the judges with his tambourine act, Oscar Chu serenades the crowd with his harmonica, The Brothers with the blending of their voices, Nitish Bharti with his breathtaking sand art and Gao Lin and Liu Xin a duo with fantastic acrobatic act. All will be competing on April 16.
Other Filipino talents waiting to be included in the semi-finals are Junior New System (dance group), Fe and Roadfill (singer and comic), Fitri Cerado (singer), Echo Claridad (singer), Neil Llanes (beatboxer), Flexie Buddies (acrobatic performers), The Miss Tres (singing group), D’Intensity Breakers (dance group), and Symmetry (dance group). While opera singer Gerphil Flores and shadow play group El Gamma Penumbra are waiting on which batch of semi-finalists they will compete.
