Joining the growing family of celebrity advocates for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Anne Curtis is the latest appointee to be a celebrity advocate for children. The actress and TV host is very thankful for the opportunity given to her to giveback to the community especially to children who are very close to her heart.
As part of her duty as celebrity advocate for children, Anne went to Leyte for 2 days to immerse herself to the community and saw the on-going recovery operations of UNICEF to Typhoon Yolanda affected areas in Leyte. Anne had the chance to interact with the children and mothers in the community where she supported emergency response and visited a maternal health care ward in the areas. She also went to temporary housing sites and day care centers to check the facilities.
As a celebrity advocate for Children, Anne’s responsibility centers to Early Childhood Care & Development which she will help in mobilizing support and resources for the most vulnerable children and families who are affected by violence, abuse, exploitation, and particularly in emergency and conflict situations. Anne is a UNICEF supporter since 2009.
Other UNICEF appointees include Gary Valenciano as UNICEF national ambassador and Daphne Oseña-Paez as special advocate for children.
